Boy oh boy, this year is ending up in a whirlwind. On top of the Genesys commercial last week, this week I did an industrial for Asset Health, a voice over for Fiat (if anyone purchases a 2012 Fiat 500, that's my voice on your owner's manual DVD!), and tomorrow I shoot a SAG New Media sitcom episode called Cloud Nine. I'm SAG-eligible now, so I have to start picking and choosing projects with an eye on that $2200+ SAG initiation fee...

Also had the opportunity today to audition for a really promising short film called Elves & Fishes. It's a sad little Christmas story with a lot of depth. They had me do my brand new monologue from Fat Pig, the one I got from my monologue class at Michigan Actors' Studio last August. I thought it went really well; I think that was the first time I ever actually nailed a monologue at an audition. So, yay me!

Might go audition for a feature called The Apothecary later this evening. The roles I fit are unpaid, but Jacquie and I did a film with the director, Kevin Lindenmuth, back in 2003, so I may go if only to catch up with him a bit. That is all.

Oh yeah, if you are looking for a gift for me this Christmas, money is all I need. Feel free to fork it over. Thanks and much love!

Had the pleasure of working with Radish Creative Group again yesterday, doing a commercial for Genesys Health System in Grand Blanc. Love working with Amy, Tina, Melissa and the rest of Radish! Looking forward to several auditions and shoots to wrap up 2010. Also working on updating mine and Jacquie's reels, so keep an eye out for those as well. Peace and warmth to you all!

Yo, check it! Two commercials I recently did, and more to come!

Doritos "Crash the Super Bowl" contest (wait for the Flash intro or search for "Last Bag Standing"):

Heidi ho, good neighbor! Well, when I'm not stuck in the office until after 11 pm or outside raking leaves and pulling out dead foliage, I've been busy with some activities I actually enjoy. Last week I shot the hilarious little video for Paragon Apartments that will be shown to prospective renters. Another gem from Matt Dibble and Final Five Productions.

Then today we rocked out Matt & Cat's Margin of Error, compressing 2 shoot days into one, even with the need to work with a cat. And what a cat it was: Piper, Lesley Braden-Phillips bengal kitty, was a star. Now it's all up to Matt to work his magic in post (zero gravity kitten, anyone)?

I'm also excited to be shooting a commercial with Matt Green and Media Lounge Productions next weekend. It's for a tax company and will air on cable. Yahoo! It's been a couple of years since I've appeared in a TV spot. I've done a bunch of VO's for TV and radio in that time, but they've been keeping my face off the tube. Why do I even bother working out?

Happy autumn, and don't forget to "fall back" tonight. Consult your local stunt coordinator for more assistance.

I finished up my scenes in Dennis Janiske's Affected last weekend. It turned out to be a pleasant day outside, which was good because we had camera issues and ended up waiting around most of the day. But it was fairly warm and dry, and watching people get their death makeup put on is never boring.

I finally got my copy of Frank Simasko's Shades of Gray yesterday. It premiered at the Blue Water Film Festival last month and I guess it's been submitted to many more. Haven't watched it all yet, just time for a quick scene, but man does it look beautiful! Hope my performance matches up to the RED camera...

I'll be shooting a hilarious little video for Paragon Apartments in Harrison Township later today. It's going to be used for all prospective renters and it'll be good, trust me. It's being produced by Matt Dibble and Final Five Productions, who do great work. Witness, for instance, the first video I did with them earlier this month.

We begin shooting (again) on Matt & Cat's Margin of Error next weekend. We believe we have finally found a tractable cat (thanks Lesley) and so we shall press onward to Mars!

October 10, 2010

So yesterday Jacquie and I had the opportunity to shoot a Zoup! commercial with Larry Thomas, the "Soup Nazi". Great guy, and we had a very good time on director Larry August's set. Things moved right along and every moment felt productive. So that means that in 2010 alone I've had the chance to work with WWE wrestler Nikolai Volkov's manager Nikita Brezhnikov and the Soup Nazi. I must be moving up in the world!

OK, so I've been shooting stuff and singing stuff and getting some new photos taken. Several films starring and/or featuring yours truly will be making their festival debuts in October. Let's see: Frank Simasko's Shades of Gray (formerly An Eye for an Eye) is playing at the Blue Water Film Festival on October 9. Jason Roth's Ta-ta's Last Stand and Jason Buchanan's True Extremes will be playing at Thriller! Chiller! on October 22-24. In addition, the trailer for Michael Clark's long-awaited Side Effects will premiere this Thursday, October 1, at the DIFF encore night.

What else? Still shooting Dennis Janiske's Affected. Began shooting Matt & Cat's Margin of Error on a sweet set built by Matt; however we ran into a few issues with the feline lead and are retooling the story. Still trying to do some pre-production on Loose Change Entertainment's fourth feature, Ringslingers.

Here's a new promo photo taken and edited by Mr. Mark A. France. Hire him to do your stuff too. You won't be disappointed.

We've got five Mad Rabbit shows in October, including two at Coyotes Chill and Grill in New Haven on October 1-2. This is our first time at Coyotes, so hopefully all goes well. Feel free to come and rock out. We may have a surprise new member to introduce as well (see below)...

Then on October 6, Mad Rabbit is participating in a fundraiser evening benefitting the award-winning production company Scallywag Entertainment (producer of such films as Side Effects, The Fall of A Sparrow, The Drop, Last Call, etc.). We will have the special treat of being joined by the inimitable Keith Stark on keys and guitar. Could it be the beginning of something longer lasting? Who knows.

OK, then. C-ya, luv-ya, bi!

August 1, 2010

Really? It's taken seven months to post another update? Are you lazy? Slothful? A waste of flesh?

Well, yes and no. But mostly no. I have just been experiencing my normal level of activity, by which I mean no free evenings or weekends, ever. I've done about 10 films already this year, including Side Effects, iTeen, An Eye for an Eye, The Fall of a Sparrow, Mosaic, Being from Another Planet and Avis Oswald. I've done several Art Van Clearance Center TV spots and a TV/radio spot for Botsford Hospital as well. And I have my first SAG project coming up in August, Dennis Janiske's Affected. It will be yummy, trust me!

Add all that to the Mad Rabbit band schedule and you can see why fake blogging isn't high on my priority list. But nevertheless, there you go, an update to let you know I'm still alive.

Off to another shoot. Enjoy the rest of your summer, babies!

January 26, 2010

Howdy, all! It's been a busy month and more for me and the Mad Rabbits. I had the privilege to contribute vocals to a track on a local Christmas album in December, with the hopes that another album will be done in 2010 with full orchestration. So that could be cool. Plus, I've never done a Christmas song before. It was lovely! The album was produced by James Stonehouse and Janet Pound, and I sang with the lovely Amy Heard on my track.

The Rabbits have been playing all over in January - six shows, which is a lot for us in a month. Every place loves us, and Bourbon Jake's wants to sign us to a yearlong contract! So if you haven't heard us yet, you don't know what you're missing. Wigs, hats, sunglasses and plenty of shenanigans will warm your frozen winter's heart, for sure.

I'm looking forward to shooting the next short film by Scallywag Productions, Side Effects, in March. This is a precursor to their awesome feature film Zomedy which will be shot this summer. Still hoping for a part in that too! If you want to contribute to helping fund Side Effects, go here and donate as little as $10 to help make Scallywag's dreams come true!

Have a wonderfully freezing day, my pretties!
