Cheers, mates,

Yep, Jacquie and I are back from our honeymoon in England. It was a jolly good time, except for the crappy service we received from our hotel and many restaurants in London. I guess good old American hospitality is too much to ask for, right? But we soldiered on and had a wonderful time. We saw most of the typical sights and I put our new 7.2 megapixel camera to good use by taking 300 pictures. If you would like me to e-mail all 300 to your inbox, just send me a note. :)

So, now that we're back, that means promotion/publicity for the premiere is stepping up. We plan on composing a new press release tonight and sending it out to scores of news organizations by June 1. In addition, Planet Ant makes their decision on June 1, so keep your fingers crossed! Then I have to finalize things with Emagine, get them the movie poster, test the DVD, that sort of thing.

Life is in no way slowing down, but I'll post more as I get time.

Happily married,
Jeff

Greetings,

Well, it's four days until our wedding. I picked up my tux today which kind of brought the reality of the wedding down on me. Not in a bad way, mind you. The last month has just been a whirlwind of activity, with finalizing wedding plans, finishing the movie, continuing to gig with Elixir (and releasing a CD), and anything else you care to throw in. But now with tux in hand, it feels more like time is slowing down and I am realizing the immensity of the commitment we are making on Sunday. And you know what, I'm not scared or nervous. A bit anxious, possibly, about the competency of our selected vendors, but then again I'm a very anal person.

So, on to movie news. Anthony Griffin, Jacquie and I spent last Saturday afternoon in my basement watching the final version of the movie and recording the audio commentary track for the DVD. We had ourselves a good time reminiscing about the shoot, laughing and sharing some secrets. I mixed the commentary track with the movie audio on Monday night, and added it to the gold DVD project on Tuesday. I then created an image of the DVD on my hard drive, and it's really kick butt! Commentary tracks are like, well, so professional. I can't wait to sell you a copy or ten!

Also, I sent off the movie to two other film festivals today: the Austin Film Festival and the New Orleans Film Festival. Keep your fingers crossed and call in any favors you may have!

Finally, I began sending out media invites and press kits last night. I will really get to work when we get back from the honeymoon. And I took the premiere announcement postcards (front, back) to the printer today. We're going to blanket the town with them!

(Almost) no longer in a bachelor way,
Jeff

Hi,

Well, it's May and that means two things (OK, three things):

1. I'm getting married in exactly 2 weeks.
2. I'm turning 34 at the end of the month.
3. The freakin' movie is DONE!

Yes, in case you missed the announcements on the Front Page of the site or the News page, we have a premiere date. It's June 23 at the Emagine Theater in Novi (check the other pages for more details, as I'm tired of typing!). We're going to blanket the local media outlets as much as possible and then party the night away. The excitement is palpable (at least to me). There's still a lot of work to be done, with festivals to be entered, the commentary track to be recorded, the DVD to be authored, and cast and crew copies to be made, but the big job is done. And now you'll all get a chance to see the project you helped bring to life. God bless you all!

For now, that's all I can think of to print. Check back later when I'm thinking more clearly...

Peacefully,
Jeff
